Sylvia Pankhurst to be celebrated with street art in Gorse Hill

Artistic Planning Application

Bruntwood have submitted a planning application for a Mural on Trafford House, which many us will know as the DVLC office in Gorse Hill. And it's a really interesting application opposite Tescos.

Chester House

The proposed development is to apply a piece of 'street art' as a mural on the east facing gable end of the south block of Trafford House, on Chester Road. The design for the piece of art is to be arrived at through a public competition.

This is to be a celebration of a local Trafford hero, as Sylvia Pankhurst was born circa 500 metres away from Trafford House, and will also be in conjunction with 2018 marking 100 years since women first achieved suffrage. The ambition is use a local artist and help contribute to the growing number of high quality pieces of street art throughout Greater Manchester.
