Labour Team for Gorse Hill

Welcome to the Gorse Hill Labour pages.
We're really proud of Labour
and its focus on
Our neighbourhoods and people

Some of Our Achievements

  • Gorse Hill Regeneration
  • Lostock Regeneration
  • Better Policing
  • PCSOs
  • Tackling Anti Social Behaviour
  • Imperial War Museum
  • Free Bus and Metrolink Travel for Older People
  • Saving the NHS
  • Minimum Wage
  • Sure Start
  • Introduced Civil Partnerships
  • NHS Direct
  • Free Nursery Places for every 3 and 4 year old
  • The Open University

The list goes on. But without the Labour Party, these improvements wouldn't have happened. And the Labour Party is only as good as its members.

We need a strong local party. We want your priorities. We want you to be part of it.

Do you feel the same way we do about the kind of Britain you want to live in?

A Britain where there is a first-class health service free at the point of use; where education is always a priority; and where you and your family are treated equally and can feel safe and secure.

Join us and be part of our journey. Maybe you already vote Labour at election time? Maybe you have thought about joining but not actually done it? Maybe you think you are too young, too old or too busy? Maybe it's because nobody has asked you. We're asking you now.

Join us and help shape our country's future.

Labour in Gorse Hill

Big Conversation

"Labour’s strength is its members. Their talent and potential needs to be unleashed. Our members need to feel more included and valued for their time, commitment and dedication. Through Labour, they must feel able to shape the direction and policy of their party."

The above quote was written by Susan Nash (see picture below) in her campaign for chair of Young Labour in 2011. We don't know Susan, we've never met her, but her words say everything about what being a member of Gorse Hill Labour should be about. It's what we aspire to, and we need you to tell us the things we're doing right; and the things we're doing wrong.
