Your Labour Team are huge supporters of alley gating.
Bev Hughes explains;
"With the right backing from council these can make an enormous difference to neighbourhoods; reducing crime and anti social behaviour as well as giving a communal space that fosters neighbourhood pride."
The photographs below were taken just a mile away on the Salford side of the canal. The Annie Street communal garden really shows what can be done with commitment from everyone.
More information can be found on the Seedley and Langworthy in Bloom website. It is truly inspirational.
The Trafford Metro's frontpage for 23rd September 2010 led on the story that Alley Gating was being cut. The schemes affected included the Bowness/Derwent and Portland/Wesley schemes.
This hugely infuriating decision breaks promises to residents by Trafford's Tories. It's just misguided rubbish from the Tories who're increasingly confident that they can do as they please.
Residents coming together in Seedley and Langworthy have transformed neglected plots and brought the area into bloom. Isn't this something that could have made a difference to our area?
